Eligible organization types include higher education institutions, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, local and state governments, and tribal governments.
Non-domestic (non-U.S.) entities are not eligible to apply.
Only U.S.-based organizations are eligible; non-domestic components of U.S. organizations are not eligible.
Projects must be completed within two years and require limited funding.
Applications proposing clinical trials are not accepted.
Application budgets are limited to $75,000 in direct costs per year.
Applications are due by 5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization.
Key dates include application due dates on February 16, June 16, October 16, and February 16 of the following year.
K01 awardees who have received an R01 or equivalent grant are not eligible for this R03 funding opportunity.
Applications must include a summary of the PD/PI's SERCA K01 award and a detailed research strategy.
Applications will be evaluated based on significance, innovation, rigor, feasibility, and the expertise of the investigators.
Applications will undergo peer review and be evaluated for scientific and technical merit.
Applications deemed to have the highest scientific merit will be prioritized for funding.
