Career Transition Award for NINDS Intramural Clinician-Scientists (K22 Clinical Trial Required)

Only NINDS may apply for the initial mentored phase on behalf of intramural neurologists or neurosurgeons.
Only U.S.-based organizations are eligible to apply.
Non-domestic entities (foreign organizations) are not eligible.
Applicants must propose to serve as the lead investigator of an independent clinical trial.
The research plan must span both phases of the award.
NINDS will contribute up to $125,000 per year toward the salary of the career award recipient during the extramural phase.
Indirect costs are reimbursed at 8% of modified total direct costs.
Application due dates are set for various cycles, with the next due date on June 12, 2025.
All applications are due by 5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization.
Individuals are not eligible if they have had any individual NIH career development award or are currently a PD/PI on an NIH research grant.
