Applicant institutions must be located in the United States or its territories.
Institutions must have received less than $6 million per year from NIH Research Project Grants in the preceding three fiscal years.
Institutions must enroll at least 35% of undergraduate students supported by Pell grants.
Institutions must award undergraduate (B.S. or B.A.) and/or graduate degrees in biomedical sciences.
Biomedical research and education in basic, translational, biomedically-related behavioral or clinical fields.
Enhancement of research capacity and educational opportunities at resource-limited institutions.
Instruments should be housed in a space that maximizes sharing and promotes cost-effectiveness.
The Program Director/Principal Investigator (PD/PI) must have administrative and scientific oversight of the requested instrument.
Instruments must be housed in a core facility, shared-resource space, or accessible laboratory.
Minimum award: $25,000
Maximum award: $250,000
Eligible: Purchase cost, extended warranties, and service contracts for the instrument.
Ineligible: Technical personnel, software (unless integrated), supplies, and facilities costs.
Applications are due by 5:00 PM local time of applicant organization on July 4, 2025.
