Purpose & Target

Financial Structure

  • Total consortium funding: €925,000.
  • Maximum individual student funding: €6,120.
  • Monthly stipend rates depend on host institution country (in person participation) or home institution country (virtual participation):
  • Group 1 countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Sweden, United Kingdom, Liechtenstein, Norway): Up to €900 per month.
  • Group 2 countries (Austria, Belgium, Germany, France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Cyprus, Netherlands, Malta, Portugal): Up to €800 per month.
  • Group 3 countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Turkey): Up to €700 per month.
  • Additional €120 per month for disadvantaged students.
  • Students already receiving financial support can receive a top-up up to €100 above the maximum rate of the host country.
  • Virtual participation stipend is €150 less than the rate of the home institution's country.
  • Non-living mobility payment (if no move required): Around €300 monthly.
  • Funding provided by the student's home, host, or other DigiQ partner institutions within the consortium.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicant Eligibility (Student)
  • Must be enrolled in a relevant Master Degree Programme.
  • Must be part of a DigiQ network, committed to joining a DigiQ network at the next possible date, or a recent graduate with a certification from a DigiQ network.
  • Institutional mobility is required: the home and host institutions must be different.
Host Institution Eligibility
  • Must be a DigiQ Partner institution (e.g., Aarhus University, Fundacio Institut de Ciencies Fotoniques, etc.).
Geographic Requirements
  • Host institution must be located in one of the eligible countries for funding (Group 1, 2, or 3 countries).
Technical Expertise
  • Student must demonstrate academic qualifications and research excellence relevant to quantum technology.
Exclusion Criteria
  • If home and host institutions are the same, applicant is ineligible for mobility support.

Selection Process
  • Eligibility check will be performed by the local representative.
  • Selection is based on merit, academic qualifications, and research excellence, considering output relative to opportunities.
  • Selection is carried out by the Mobility Panel or the WP leader.
Post-Award Requirements
  • Local coordinators are responsible for managing the process at their organization and must notify the WP4 Leader of all successful applications before they are final.
  • Internships have a maximum duration of 6 months.

  • Candidate demonstrates potential for leadership and/or experience in leadership roles (e.g., supervision of students).
  • Record of impact on the scientific community (e.g., student chapters, outreach activities).
Relative Assessment
  • Excellence and output evaluated relative to candidate's experience and opportunities.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Considerations
  • Selection committee may take into account factors such as gender, disability, educational opportunities, socio-economic background, refugee status, etc.
  • 20% of mobility funding is reserved for under-represented groups, with efforts to encourage students from underrepresented groups.
