To support time-sensitive research evaluating policies or programs likely to influence obesity-related behaviors and chronic disease risk.
The mission is to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.
Populations at risk for health disparities, including racial and ethnic minorities, individuals with lower socioeconomic status, and underserved communities.
Eligible organization types include higher education institutions, nonprofits, for-profit organizations, local and state governments, and tribal governments.
Non-domestic entities (foreign organizations) are not eligible to apply.
Applications must be from organizations based in the United States or its territories.
Projects must evaluate policies or programs affecting diet, physical activity, sleep, and/or weight.
Applications must demonstrate a unique and scientifically compelling research opportunity that requires expedited funding.
Application budgets are not limited but must reflect actual project needs.
Cost sharing is not required.
Applications are due by 5:00 PM local time of the applicant organization.
Funding decisions are intended to be made within 4 months of the application due date.
Applications submitted to this NOFO are not eligible for re-submission.

Applications will be evaluated based on scientific and technical merit, including significance, innovation, rigor, and feasibility.
Applications will undergo peer review and will receive a written critique.
Applications deemed to have the highest scientific and technical merit will be prioritized.
The research must be time-sensitive and demonstrate a unique opportunity for evaluation.
Applications proposing to initiate or deliver new programs are not eligible.
